Missions Opportunities
AustraliaSeeds of HopeSeeds of Hope is a non-profit organisation working in the Nerang community since 2005. The focus is on bringing hope and practical help to people in need through food parcels, the white goods bank, parenting courses and supporting families and workers in the foster care system amongst many other services. Visit Seeds of Hope Community Services to find out more. Indigenous and Outback Mission into Australia takes the form of partnerships between various individuals and ministries that have a heart for Aboriginal people and outback communities. The vision is to gather teams, who will travel to these outlying communities to bring practical support, encourage and build the local church and share the Gospel through evangelism, worship and the creative arts. AsiaThailand – Children of the Golden Triangle (CGT)CGT are working to eliminate the trafficking of children in the sex slave industry in South-East Asia, provide relief and real answers for poverty, hunger, and sickness to prevent early childhood death, and reduce environmental damage and provide a source of income through tree planting projects. The Akha Training Centre in North Thailand and the establishment of Village Schools are some of the main ways these children are being helped. In 2009 CGT are caring for close to 500 children and, through the sponsorship program, they receive food, bedding, healthcare, education and training in life skills. The Akha people occupy the mountain regions of South-East Asia and have suffered terrible oppression due to the opium trade in that region. Cambodia – ProjectMacProjectMac works with the poorest of the poor in Cambodia, bringing new life and hope to the families and villages. They work in orphanages, plant new churches and reach out to the local villages providing pastor training, church buildings, Bible distribution, medical aid, clean water supplies and rice distribution in a number of provinces. The Battambang Street Families Crisis Centre serves widows, street families and abused children by providing training in woodwork, weaving, and sewing, education, business start-up assistance and repatriation back into their villages. ProjectMac is also involved in a new commune of 7000 displaced people close to the Thai border and hope to raise up a pastor and build a church there.
