“… look after the orphans and widows in their distress” James 1:27

About Seeds of Hope

A shared experience is often twice as fun, because of whom we get to share it with and when times get tough, heavy burdens are not so heavy when someone is there to help carry the load. It’s all about community and doing life together. We are not meant to do it alone - we were made for relationship firstly, with our awesome God and secondly, with others.

Seeds of Hope is a non-profit organisation, established in 2005, and has been working to build a strong, healthy community in the Nerang area since that time. One hundred percent of the money raised goes toward providing relief, support and education for the people we serve. Our aim is to bring hope and practical help to the broken, hurting, lonely and misunderstood people in our community.

Some Sown Seeds

“I am a single mum with a five year old son. Last week I moved into a new home with no fridge. It was very distressing and I wondered how we were going to get by. You were very, very kind by donating this fridge to us. I am extremely grateful, so a big thank you to you and your church” – Jasmine.

You have once again come to the aid of a family in need in this area, something you never fail in assisting me with. I am overwhelmed with the generosity of your congregation and their eagerness to help out and give so generously. May I extend a sincere 'Thank You', not only to yourself, but to all those who gave so willingly to help the family with whom I have been working. The family, to whom all the goods were donated, also would like to thank those involved. The gift of giving is truly a blessed past-time. 'Thank You' seems almost inadequate. We have observed a significant improvement in behaviour and focused learning time due to the initiative covering the needs of choldren who may have missed out on having breadfast. Large numbers of children are accessing the program (up to 20-30% of all students) and the teachers have reported how much more settled the students are to begin a new school day. These are seeds of hope; a listening ear, a helping hand and some practical support. It might seem insignificant, but for someone in need it can literally shine a ray of light into a dark and hopeless place. I’m inspired by these stories of hope, and can’t wait to see more lives impacted by these simple acts of kindness.

Recently Seeds of Hope organised a community dinner where 41 organisations represented by 73 attendees, looked at how they can work together to build a better community in the Nerang area. They were encouraged by each other and committed to work together in a common strategy to bring hope and practical answers to people in need.

This is powerful stuff because when we begin to work together for a common cause, individual lives, families and communities are transformed!

We are always on the look out for Kingdom focussed like-minded people to walk this journey with us and us with them. If your heart has been stirred in reading about who we are and what we do then maybe God is prompting you to respond. Here are 3 options for you to consider...

1. Volunteer

If you would like to help us then please email me and let's catch up and talk about some of the possibilities

2. Invest

If you would like to financial support Seeds of Hope or any of its projects then we are able to provide Tax Deductible Receipts for any donation over $2

3. Duplicate

If you would like to sow some 'Seeds of Hope' in your own community but are unsure of how to get started then email me and I would be happy to share ideas, bring encouragement and offer any assistance I can to see more seeds of hope being planted in peoples lives.
